Where to Celebrate Spring in Philly

After a long and cold winter, spring is just about upon us! This season more than ever, we all could use some flowers, greenery and sunshine. While it may take a few weeks for spring to have truly sprung, now is the perfect time to break your sneakers back in and take in the spring sights, sounds and smells in Philly.

There are plenty of green spaces to do just that around your 1500 Locust apartment, including Schuylkill River Park. The Southwest Center City park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. With an attached recreation center, the park offers plenty of opportunities to get active when the nice weather rolls around: a baseball diamond, soccer field, tennist courts, basketball courts.

If it’s cardio you’re into for exercise, Schuylkill River Park is a great fit. The park features paved pathways alongside the river that are popular with bikers, runners and walkers. You can burn off some energy, get your heart pumping and do it all with stunning riverside views. You can also bring along your four-legged friend, as the park features two of the largest dog runs in the city.

A community garden is another of the standout aspects of the Schuylkill River Park, providing the perfect backdrop for an afternoon stroll, dog walk or a spot to kick back with a good book. Featuring hundreds of trees of different varieties, the park’s open spaces are also inviting for a springtime picnic, game of Frisbee or some exciting people watching with friends. With so many city establishments closed because of health restrictions, the park provides a perfect outlet for springtime entertainment.

We’ve all been cooped up this winter, so now is the time to welcome back warmer weather and all the possibilities of spring, all safely and without traveling too far from your 1500 Locust apartment.
