Where to Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Philly

New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year—and there are plenty of ways to get in on all the fun here in Philly. From open bar parties to swanky dance clubs, the options are endless, and many are right near your 1500 Locust apartment—which can mean making plans can be a bit stressful. If you’re looking to take the pressure out of the holiday this year, consider tapping into one of Philly’s biggest selling point—its culinary scene—to sell your friends, family or date on a different type of Near Year’s celebration.

Philadelphia is home to hundreds of award-winning restaurants, so why not wind down 2019 indulging on some mouthwatering creations? A great place to do just that is at La Viola, which operates two restaurants right across the street from one another—and just one block from your 1500 Locust apartment.

Both eateries serve up classic Italian fare in slightly differing atmospheres. At the original La Viola, transport yourself into what feels like a cozy wine cellar—decked out in Italian décor. The authentic nature of the restaurant is evident in its menu, which is written in Italian (don’t worry, the wait staff can help translate!). Veal, pasta, fish and many more selections will have you ending your year on a high note. Across the street at La Viola West, overlook 16th Street from the floor-to-ceiling windows of this historic space, which features a private room if you want to bring along a larger crew. West also offers prix fixe menus, a perfect way to take a quick tour of Italy before 2019 closes out.

Best of all, both restaurants are BYOB—so you can indulge on your favorite wine or beer and even save a few bucks on your outing—a win-win in our book!

Happy New Year’s!
