Where to Spend Thanksgiving Eve

Many of us spend Thanksgiving chowing down on turkey and all the fixin’s—but the night before the big holiday, it’s all about the partying! Thankfully, there are lots of hot spots right near your 1500 Locust apartment where you can let loose, make memories and enjoy the sights and sounds of Philly at the holidays. But if you want to play it a little calmer this year, and wake up refreshed for your big meal, you can consider a more low-key outing—all without skimping on the fun or the flavor.

To stay close to home for a night out with friends—where you can actually hear one another talk!—take a trip over to Blume. (And when we say close, we mean close—the restaurant and bar is literally just steps from your 1500 Locust apartment!) The venue opened earlier this year, so if you haven’t been yet, this is a great excuse to visit.

Blume is an Instagrammer’s dream—with every surface covered in bright pinks and purple, as well as gorgeous floral displays that will have you yearning for the warm weather. But there’s plenty to enjoy at Blume in wintertime. Take the extensive beer list of 20 craft brews, many made locally, as well as the collection of natural wines, with four varieties on draft and many more available by the glass and bottle.

The food menu is a perfect fit for a Thanksgiving Eve outing, with a large selection of shareables. The street food-inspired dishes take many favorites and dress them up a bit (think the avocado sundae or gruyere sticks!), serving as the ideal centerpiece for a gathering with old friends and new.

Thanksgiving Eve is party central here in Philly but, if you’re looking to spend your party catching up with loved ones while still enjoying some outstanding dishes and drinks, a trip to Blume is just the way to kick off your holiday festivities.
