Summer is all but faded from Philadelphia, but we still have
a few weeks until the fall chill fully settles over the City of Brotherly Love.
If you’re looking for one final hoorah to soak up some sun and say goodbye to
summer, why not do so at one of Philly’s amazing rooftop bars? Sipping and
socializing with friends amid spectacular views of the city skyline is a great
way to put an exclamation point on the summer of 2019 and make a few more
memories—and with so many awesome rooftop hideaways near your 1500 Locust
apartment, you barely have to leave home to soak it all in!
One of the best is Bok Bar, a seasonal rooftop venue in
nearby South Philadelphia. Bok is situated in an historic former school that
has now been transformed to include private workspace, event venues and much
more—with Bok Bar being the rooftop gem. The venue is open Wednesday through
Sunday and welcomes youngsters until 7 p.m., as well as all day on Sundays—when
pups are also invited to partake in the fun!
Just what can you find at Bok Bar? Lots of opportunities to
kiss summer goodbye with amazing food, drinks and an even better backdrop. Its
food menu features small bites with a Middle Eastern flare, including kebabs,
empanadas and gyros. On the drink side, Bok offers 18 different craft beers,
many of which are locally brewed, as well as a dozen wines from around the
world, and a full bar of spirits. The venue features frequent events, such as
yoga, networking socials, themed dining and more. Best yet, all of this takes
place amid 360 views of the city.
Bok closes up for the year at the end of September, so make
sure to hop the Broad Street Subway or stroll the quick two miles soon to get
in on all the end-of-summer fun!
