3 Bar Crawls to Celebrate St. Paddy’s in Philly

St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday this year—which means the celebrations are going to be louder, crazier and greener! At 1500 Locust, you’re right in the middle of all the action. Center City is home to scores of Irish pubs, as well as even more that go Irish on March 17, so the options for bar hopping are nearly endless.

If the prospect of figuring out which hot spots are the hottest on St. Patrick’s Day is a bit daunting, instead hop on an arranged bar crawl to hit the town without that stress. On St. Paddy’s Day and the weekends leading up to it, Center City will be bursting with bus caravans and walking tours filled with green revelers, so join your neighbors and celebrate the holiday in style.

Erin Express: The premiere St. Paddy’s bar crawl returns three separate times this year: March 3, 10 and 17. More than a dozen bars, from University City to Fairmount and everywhere in between, are participating this year, including Mace’s Crossing, five blocks from your 1500 Locust apartment. The Erin Express features a fleet of busses to carry partiers from spot to spot, which runs on a loop every 15 minutes from noon-6 p.m.—and it’s free! Participating venues will offer drink specials, including discounted Jameson Irish Whiskey at all locations.

Luck of the Irish: This pub crawl takes revelers throughout Center City on two days: March 11 and March 17. The party starts in Old City, and moves west into the heart of downtown and such spots at Finn McCool’s Ale House, four blocks from your 1500 Locust apartment. This is a walking event, which gives partiers a quick breather in between stops and a chance to see the sights on what will be some exciting days in Center City!

Philly Irish Stroll: is offering a whopping three chances to party the weekend of St. Patrick’s Day. The main pub crawl, Philly Irish Stroll, is on March 17, starting at Fox & Hound, just one block from your 1500 Locust apartment. Green-clad revelers will then set off for other stops in Rittenhouse Square and Old City. Those who really want to make the most out of St. Paddy’s being on a weekend can grab an all-access pass to get in on a pre-party Friday night and an after-party after Saturday’s stroll.
