We all dine out every once in a while, so why not plan your splurge to help Philadelphians in need?
Every year, hundreds of restaurants and bars across the country participate in Dining Out for Life, a nationwide benefit for HIV/AIDS and other causes. Here in Philadelphia, more than 50 eateries within walking distance of your 1500 Locust apartment will open their doors April 20 and donate a third of their profits to Action Wellness, which provides vital services to people with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses.
With so many choices, how do you pick where to dine out?
A number of restaurants go above and beyond to give back to the community — and to their customers. Participants in the 20-Percent Off Tuesdays program will gift diners who donate at least $25 to the cause a card that will guarantee them 20-percent off any Tuesday orders for a whole year!
Here are the neighborhood locals supporting 20-Percent Off Tuesday:
Bellini Grill — Classic Italian is served up, with the bonus that it’s BYOB.
Franky Bradley’s — The multi-floor restaurant and dance club features comfort food amid a medieval theme.
Giorgio on Pine — Casual Italian fare and BYOB are the highlights of this trattoria-style venue.
Knock — Upscale food and drink selections for every appetite are offered at this restaurant with an expansive bar.
My Thai — Generous portions, lots of spice and affordable prices define this Pad Thai joint.
Waffles & Wedges — True to its name, the spot serves waffles and potato wedges with an eclectic mix of toppings, and some healthier choices as well.
Get out and support the cause by dining at one of these neighborhood restaurants, and check out the full list at www.actionwellness.org.
